Hi gang,
Welcome to Issue #20.
Story:
One of my clients—sharp, strategic, a rising star—told me she wanted to grow her book. And she meant it. But her actions weren’t landing.
She was visible—panels, LinkedIn posts, firm initiatives—but underneath? Analysis paralysis. Scattered energy. Safe moves.
She was hiding in plain sight—doing all the “right” things without ever putting a real stake in the ground. She hadn’t claimed her authority yet.
And until she did, no tactic was going to change her results.
Lesson:
She thought the right tactic would fix it. But what she really needed was a mindset shift.
No strategy works when you don’t trust yourself enough to try.
When fear of looking foolish keeps you from taking imperfect action.
This is where “ready, fire, aim” comes in.
(Originally coined in Masterson, M. (2007). Ready, Fire, Aim: Zero to $100 Million in No Time Flat. John Wiley & Sons.)
Business development isn’t a secret recipe. It’s:
→ a puzzle, an opportunity.
→ an art, not a science.
→ a game.
Action:
What if your procrastination isn’t a flaw—but a clue?
I created a journal prompt to help you unpack what’s really getting in the way—so you can take aligned, confident action.

No one else gets to decide when you're ready.
You do.
xo,
Rachel
